I decided to drop all the money I’ve been saving for a year to fly out to Canada with a couple of my best friends for a proper goodbye to the summer. With nothing but 12 days and 100 miles of river ahead of us, we embarked on the best 2 weeks of our lives.
Arriving in Canada, we tested, packed, and flipped our canoes. Stashed our luggage in a float plane, then flew out with a Canadian local named James. Landed at a wooden castle, dropped our canoes off the plane into the water, and waved goodbye to James. Spent the next 2 weeks canoeing 100 miles down the river, stopping off at islands, beaches, waterfalls, lakes, and anything that caught our eye. Entertained ourselves by jumping off cliffs, getting carried down rapids, hiking to hidden waterfalls, picking around 2 gallons of the fattest wild blueberries you’d ever see, swimming, fishing, playing cards, and of course exploring what Canada had to offer. We cooked spaghetti, breakfast sandwichs, alfredo, and enough blueberry muffins to last the whole trip. Saw around 12 bald eagles, a couple of wild river otters, baby bears, hiked 28 portages, dropped a canoe on one of them, and obviously took over 12 hours of footage, and took over 2000 pictures. Wouldn’t trade the experience for anything, and will never get over the beauty of Canada. Until next time!
